JIMMY DALE closes ‘coming out’ party with 7 minute Dale signature, ‘Miserlou’, at Winters Tavern, Pacifica, CA friday the 13th of Sept

When Dick Dale passed a few years back I thought it may be the end of an era and it probably was, however ….I knew he had a son Jimmy who had had his ups and downs but he was playing occasionally at Dick Dale shows and then I hadn’t heard from him until now many years later. It looks as though Jimmy Dale now probably in his late twenties Maybe has overcome some demons that he appeared to have had and he has really channeled his father like I never would have thought

Saw a historic performance last night by Jimmy Dale, son of surf music pioneer Dick Dale, who e ven some oldies fans  may never heard of as instrumentsl surf music has always been under the radar, especially outside of C California and the Beach Boys. We’re talking mostly INSTRUMENTAL SURF MUSIC.  I was a big fan of DICK DALE, who put on incredible shows in California – and later, even nationally thst went largely unnoticed except by us hardcore ‘cult ‘ followers. and now Jimmy has his ‘ coming out’ and plays guitar just like his Dad. it was very sad when Dick Dale passed but now we have Jimmy to carry on the music so wonderfully. (As he used to tell in his shows,  Dick Dale helped develop the surf guitar sound and style- with Leo Fender and Fender  amps – who have their own unique guitar playing style  featuring lightning-fast ‘tremelo’ .

The venue Friday night, October 13th no less, was Winters Tavern, a⁰ tiny, nondescript dive bar, if you will,in the small coastal town of Pacifica about 10 miles south of San Francisco, where maybe 100- 150 people witnessed ,perhaps, history or at least a great coming out party, if you will.
