..and speaking of baseball, it’s with a heavy heart we say goodbye to Stan The Man Musial the consumate professional baseball player from the Golden Era, who passed 1-20-13 .  He was the first player to make $100,000 but he also returned part of the money one year when he didn’t feel his performance lived up to his pay. How many players today would do that? Musial was known as ‘the gentleman’ who played for the same Saint Louis Cardinals his entire 22-year career, circa 1940s-60s.! He was married to the same woman, who passed last year, after 71 years of marriage! He made the Hall way back in 1969 on the first ballot and a statue of him can be seen in front of the Cardinals ballpark Because he was such a gentleman and never  complained he probably never got the credit he deserved as one of the top players of all time. . http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stan_Musial
